KASPAR launched – Yonac deliver their new ‘8 synths in one’ iOS music app – and ON SALE

I've reviewed a number of Yonac's iOS music apps here on the Music App Blog over the years including ToneStack and Steel Guitar, both of which I really like. However, Yonac also do keyboard-based iOS music apps and their latest release is KASPAR, a brand new synth app and which appeared on the App Store today. I've only had the briefest of plays so far but there are some cool sounds to be had. However, there are also some interesting elements to the design that will, I'm sure, catch the … [Read more...]

ToneStack updated – Yonac bring Audiobus 3 support to their iOS guitar amp sim

Developer Yonac have gained a dedicated following with their ToneStack guitar amp sim app since it first hit the iTunes App Store back in 2014. It sounds very good indeed - up there with the best of the guitar amp sim apps such as BIAS FX, AmpliTube or Mobile POD - that iOS currently has to offer. It launched with a solid set of virtual equipment, a bunch of excellent IAPs, Audiobus and IAA support and, as a universal app, this is an iOS music app that lots of iPad or iPhone wielding guitar … [Read more...]

Magellan update – Yonac update their iPad synth with Ableton Link support

Yonac's Magellan synth has been around on the iTunes App Store for a long time - it was released back in August 2012 - and, while it was one of the first iOS music apps that I purchased for my iPad, much to my shame, I've never got around to reviewing it for the Music App Blog (although I have reviewed Yonac's ToneStack and Steel Guitar apps, both of which are rather good). Magellan is a bit of a classic in iOS music app terms and, graphically, it has the vibe of an retro analog hardware … [Read more...]

Yonac sale – TODAY ONLY – apps such as Tonestack, Steel Guitar and Magellan at bargain pricing

I reviewed developer Yonac's ToneStack virtual guitar rig here on the blog when it was first released and the app has had a number of updates since that have added to the functionality offered. Yonac are also the developer behind Magellan (their flagship iOS synth). Tonestack attracted a lot of attention when it hit the iTunes App Store last July and it sounds very good indeed - up there with the best of the guitar amp sim apps such as BIAS FX or Mobile POD - that iOS currently has to … [Read more...]

Steel Guitar update – pedal steel guitar app gets tweaks and goes FREE

If you are a guitar-playing IOS music maker, the odds are you will be familiar with the work of developer Yonac through their rather good ToneStack guitar rig simulator. Yonac do, however, have a number of other iOS music apps available on the App Store including Magellan and Galileo Organ. One other app – and one that I remember trying in the past and thinking how good it might be with the benefit of being given a little extra TLC – is Steel Guitar. Thankfully, back in May, Yonac did just … [Read more...]
