BandShift released – VirSyn add a filter/frequency shifter effect to their iOS music app line-up

VirSyn are one of the software developers that have fully embraced the iOS platform. They have gradually developed a very impressive catalogue of iOS music apps many or which - Tera Synth, microTERA, Harmony Voice, Addictive Synth, Tap Delay, Emo Chorus, Posiedon Synth, Voxsyn, Arpeggist, AudioEffx and, most recently, the brilliant ReSlice, for example - I've reviewed here previously on the Music App Blog. And they show no signs of slowing things down as we now have yet another new arrival; … [Read more...]

ReSlice launch price – grab it while you can; launch pricing ends this week-end

It's all too easy to go OTT when faced with an interesting new bit of music software and do the whole 'best thing since sliced bread' splurge of enthusiasm. On the whole, I do try my best to avoid going too far in 'hyper mode'.....  but, in the case of the very best new releases, I'm also happy to let my genuine enthusiasm come across.... And one recent release that is definitely in that particular category is VirSyn's ReSlice and I was hugely impressed with the app when I reviewed it back in … [Read more...]

Harmony Voice update – VirSyn tweak their iOS vocal app

I reviewed VirSyn’s Harmony Voice music app a while back (you can read that review here) and was impressed to see this type of vocal processing – familiar to desktop musicians for some time – starting to appear for iOS. The app also got Audiobus support added in a subsequent update and then IAA support. As the app’s name suggests, Harmony Voice produces vocal harmonies based upon your audio input and the pitch of these four-part harmonies can be produced either automatically by the app or … [Read more...]

microTERA update – VirSyn continue their round of iOS music app updates

VirSyn will be well known to most iOS musicians as they have a number of excellent apps available via the iTunes App Store. These includes some great effects apps such as AudioReverb and AudioEffX but VirSyn are probably best know for the their virtual synthesisers, both on the desktop and, over recent years, under iOS. Two of their iPad-based synths that I've reviewed previously on the blog are microTERA and Cube Synth. As I mentioned last week, Cube Synth has just been updated after a … [Read more...]

Cube Synth updated – VirSyn ‘add’ to their additive iOS synth app

I reviewed VirSyn's interesting Cube Synth way back in October 2013 soon after it was first released. The additive synth engine undoubtedly gives it a distinct ‘voice’ when compared to many of the subtractive-based synths that dominate the virtual synth world (including iOS). On these grounds alone, many long-standing iOS synth heads probably added Cube Synth to their app collection. However, while Cube Synth saw a number of updates during the first 12 months or so after release, the most … [Read more...]

Addictive Pro updated – VirSyn add Audio Unit support their latest iOS synth app

I reviewed what is now perhaps their flagship iOS synth - Addictive Pro - just afetr it was released in September. … [Read more...]
