Holderness Media updates – Christopher Rice tweaks all of his IOS effects apps

I've reviewed all of Christopher Rice's Holderness Media iOS music apps here on the blog. Without a doubt, Chris is one of the good guys when it comes to indie developers for iOS musicians and all of his apps offer a brilliant combination of great creative options, ease of use and what are, in music technology terms, pocket-money pricing. So, whether it is EchoPad (creative delay-based effects), Caramel (distortion), Swoopster (a creative flanger/phaser), Crystalline (off-the-wall reverbs), … [Read more...]

Swoopster and Crystalline updated – both get MIDI Learn

I posted a news item a couple of days ago about Holderness Media's excellent Stereo Designer app and how Chris Rice - the man behind Holderness Media - had taken the very well implemented MIDI Learn feature from his new distortion app Caramel, and worked it into Stereo Designer. As I indicated in that post, Chis had said that the same MIDI Learn was in the works for both Swoopster and Crystalline. True to his word, updates for both of these apps - taking them each to v.1.1 - hit the iTunes … [Read more...]

Stereo Designer, Swoopster and Echo Pad on sale – bargain time from Holderness Media

If you want a few recommendations of audio effects apps you can use to fully explore the new features of Audiobus 2, then you don't need to look much further than the collection of apps produced by Christopher Rice of Holderness Media. I've reviewed Stereo Designer, Swoopster and Echo Pad here on the blog previously and all three are great fun to use. Stereo Designer in particular gets a lot of use on my iPad Air and my only negative comment is that I wish Christopher would produce a VST/AU … [Read more...]

Both of these apps are brilliant fun to use and Stereo … [Read more...]

Swoopster updated – support for Audiobus 2 State Saving added

Regular readers will recall that I reviewed the Swoopster iOS music app back in December. This app - developed by those nice people at Holderness Media who are also responsible for the excellent Echo Pad and Stereo Designer - offers a creative audio effects processor that specialises in loud and proud and in your face effects, with a combination of flanger, fuzz and vibrato effects all controlled (as in Echo Pad) via tapping and swiping on your iPad’s touchscreen. Swoopster includes support … [Read more...]

Swoopster giveaway results

A week or so ago, I reviewed the Swoopster iOS music app from Holderness Media. Swoopster is an effects app that focuses on flange and fuzz effects that are great for instant ear candy. It has both Audiobus and IAA support and, as the performance interface allows really great realtime control of the effects, it is good fun to use. Christopher Rice of Holderness Media very kindly then supplied me with five promo codes for Swoopster to give away to readers on the blog. Anyway, a big thank you … [Read more...]
