Phosphor 2 released – Audio Damage add a synth to their iOS AU app catalogue

Audio Damage appear to be on a mission when it comes to iOS music apps at present. I've reviewed Rough Rider 2, Grind Distortion, Eos 2, Dubstation 2 and Replicant 2 all within the last few weeks. However, things don't seem to be slowing down just yet as now we have the release of Phosphor 2. Where as the apps listed above have all been audio processors/effects of one type or another, Phosphor 2 is Audio Damage's first iOS synth offering.  Again, it is a port of a desktop version that has, in … [Read more...]

Replicant 2 review – Audio Damage get creative with delay for their latest iOS AU port

Audio Damage are clearly on an iOS music app mission; Rough Rider 2, Grind Distortion, Eos 2 and Dubstation 2 have all appeared in very quick succession. Time for a short break over the summer? Er....  it doesn't look like it.... a further app appeared on the App Store yesterday.... This time we have a port of Replicant 2, their desktop plugin that is perhaps most easily described as a sort of 'creative delay/stutter' effect. As before, the iOS version apparently brings exactly the same … [Read more...]

Dubstation 2 review – Audio Damage continue to impress with their growing iOS AU app range

I've recently reviewed Rough Rider 2, Grind Distortion and Eos 2 by Audio Damage. The developer has been producing desktop music software/plugins for some time....  and building a good reputation for well-featured software sold at (for the desktop market at least) competitive prices. All three of the above iOS apps represent ports of desktop plugins to iOS. And, a couple of weeks ago, they released a further such port in Dubstation 2. As I've been peddling wildly on various other work fronts … [Read more...]

Dubstation 2 released – Audio Damage add a further iOS AU port to their growing catalogue

No sooner than I'd reviewed both Rough Rider 2, Grind Distortion and Eos 2 by Audio Damage then they release another iOS music app; Dubstation 2 (and with thanks to Music App Blog reader Justin for the heads-up on the app's arrival on the App Store). Audio Damage have built quite a reputation as creators of desktop plugins over the last few years and it's great to see the software being ported over to iOS...  and they are obviously on a bit of a roll :-) Dubstation 2 is yet another such port … [Read more...]

Eos 2 review – Audio Damage raise the bar for iOS algorithmic reverb

As I posted just before the week-end, no sooner than I'd reviewed both Rough Rider 2 and Grind Distortion by Audio Damage then they released another iOS music app; Eos 2. Audio Damage have built quite a reputation as creators of desktop plugins over the last few years and it's great to see the software being ported over to iOS...  and they are obviously on a bit of a roll :-) Eos 2 is a further such port and, in this case, we have an algorithmic reverb. The iOS version apparently brings … [Read more...]

NYCompressor review – AU compressor added to DDMF’s iOS app lineup

A little while ago, I posted reviews of the  6144 EQ, Envelope Reverb and Nolimits iOS audio effects/processor apps from DDMF and developer Christian Siedschlag. All of these are very capable audio processors in their own right but, given the desire from many iOS musicians to see the AU plugin format really take hold, the fact that they are also available as AU plugins only is also of considerable interest. 6144 EQ is a AU-only format equaliser plugin whose inspiration was the highly regarded … [Read more...]
