Sector SALE – Jonatan Liljedahl’s brilliant loop mashing app at a bargain price

I reviewed Jonatan Liljedahl's Sector when it was first released back in February 2014 and I was hugely impressed by what it can offer. This iOS music app is a bit of a difficult app to classify and describe but, in essence, it takes an audio loop, slices it (into 'sectors') and then allows you to reassemble and manipulate those sectors (slices) in various ingenious ways. If you are the kind of person that either likes to mangle their audio loops or who just wants to extract the absolute … [Read more...]

AudioShare update – iOS audio document manager gets new features

Jonatan Liljedahl is obviously a busy man. As well as updates to all is Kymatica-branded AUFX series audio effects apps appearing on the App Store over the last few days, one of his other apps - AudioShare - has also been updated. I've never got around to doing a full review of AudioShare here on the blog, but it is the kind of useful utility app that an iOS musician doesn't realises how useful it is to have around until they have actually got it around :-) As the app's full title suggests … [Read more...]

AUFX:Push review – Jonatan Liljedahl adds a comprehensive compressor app to the excellent Kymatica AUFX series

I’ve reviewed all the iOS music apps in the AUFX series previously here on the blog – Space, Dub and PeakQ – and all are brilliant. If you need an easy-to-use, effective and great value (each app is currently UKE£3.99) solution for reverb, delay or EQ under iOS, then these apps ought to be in your collection. The very straightforward interface design makes them a doddle to work with and, with both Audiobus and IAA support, they can easily be slotted into your recording projects using any of the … [Read more...]

AUFX Series updated – all aboard the ‘bus MkII

As regular readers here will already know, I'm a bit of a fan of the iOS music apps produced by Jonatan Liljedahl under his Kymatica brand. As well and the brilliant Sector, Jonatan is also the developer behind the very impressive AUFX series of apps, a suite of audio effects apps, all available at pocket money prices but with a performance that is anything but cheap and nasty. I've reviewed AUFX:Space (a reverb), AUFX:Dub (a delay) and AUFX:Peak (and EQ) before of the blog and all are … [Read more...]

Sector giveaway results

I posted a short review about the major update to Sector earlier this week. If you like to take your audio loops and slice and dice them within an inch of their life, then Sector really should appeal. It is both fun to use and endlessly creative. With this update, Jonatan Liljedahl - Sector's developer and also the person behind the AUFX series of audio effect apps - has taken a great concept and just made it better. Developer Jonatan Liljedahl was kind enough to provide me with three promo … [Read more...]
