AD 480 Reverb update – high-quality iOS reverb effect app from Fiedler Audio gets updated

I posted a review of the rather excellent AD 480 iOS music app from Fiedler Audio some time ago. AD 480 provides a high-quality reverb effect, with plenty of controls to shape your virtual space, a good set of presets in the 'pro' version, and both Audiobus and IAA support. However, the really novel feature is something that Fiedler Audio refer to as ‘dynamic upgrade’. Simply put, the app is provided in three versions; free, basic and pro (priced at ‘free (surprise!), UK£3.99/US$3.99 and … [Read more...]

n-Track Pro updated – n-Track Software’s multi-platform DAW/sequencer gets iOS11 support

While I'm a self-confessed Cubasis fan (and a Cubase user on the desktop), iOS has a number of really good options when it comes to DAW/sequencers. One of those that obviously has a solid user base is n-Track which I reviewed on the blog some time ago. One of the advantages of n-Track is that it is cross-platform; it exists on the desktop (Windows and OSX), iOS and Android. This multi-platform approach might well make it very appealing to some potential users as it means projects can perhaps … [Read more...]

Mitosynth update – hybrid iOS synth from Wooji Juice Ltd gets ready for iOS11

Wooji Juice's Mitosynth iOS music app has been with us for a few years now. I was very impressed with the app when I reviewed it just after it was released. Mitosynth looked great, sounded great (especially if you are into sound design and sound textures) and played nicely with other iOS music apps via Audiobus. It also provides a novel set of sound design tools that, while easy to use, provide a tremendous amount of flexibility for the keen programmer. It might not be my recommendation as a … [Read more...]

iProphet update – Arturia tweak their Prophet emulation for iOS11

Well iOS 11 is almost upon us and, while I would, of course, suggest upmost caution over actually updated to Apple's latest and greatest version of their mobile OS (especially if you are in the middle of a project or three), it is good to see developers doing what they can to ensure compatibility with iOS11 for those brave iOS music makers willing to take the plunge. Given just how infrequently Arturia actually update their apps (if it's not broke, don't fix it), it is perhaps quite … [Read more...]
