Heavy Brass review – Crudebyte add a brass section to their iOS music app catalogue

As I mentioned a few days ago, Crudebyte have added a new sample-based virtual instrument to their iOS music app line-up. Given the title - Heavy Brass – there will be no prizes awarded for guessing the instrument group represented and, in the app’s blurb on the App Store, Crudebyte suggest that the sounds are aimed at funk, pop and soul styles rather than the more orchestral styles found in Crudebyte’s iSymphonic Orchestra. iSymphonic Orchestra does have brass sounds available and there are … [Read more...]

Heavy Brass launched – Crudebyte add a brass section to their iOS music app catalogue

Crudebyte caused quite a stir back in August 2014 when their iSymphonic Orchestra app was launched. The app's blurb promised a lot and, while the sounds in the initial release were most certainly very impressive, it perhaps wasn't until the first update for the app appeared a few months later, that it perhaps started to deliver on the obvious potential of the sample playback engine.
