Cubasis giveaway results – 5 winners of Steinberg’s brilliant Cubasis

As long-standing readers here will know, I'm a bit of a Cubasis fan and, as I posted last week, the kind folks at Steinberg have offered me a few copies to giveaway, it would be a bit of a shame not to take them up on the offer.... Cubasis offers a slick interface and a well focused feature set that lets you get on with the core tasks of recording and mixing audio/MIDI music productions. And, as a Cubase user on the desktop, for me at least, Cubasis makes a perfect platform for capturing … [Read more...]

Cubasis giveaway – 5 copies of Steinberg’s brilliant Cubasis to be won

OK, I know....   it's been pretty quiet around here for quite a while as a consequence of me spending more time on music production and less time on blog production....  However, as long-standing readers here will know, I'm a bit of a Cubasis fan and, as the kind folks at Steinberg have offered me a few copies to giveaway, it would be a bit of a shame not to take them up on the offer.... Navichord giveaway results – 10 winners of chord/harmony exploration app

I did a full review of Navichord here on the Music App Blog some time ago but, as I've also posted more recently, the app had had a whole series of updates since launch and has considerably expanded upon its feature set as a consequence. The design is also so simple and elegant that the app is a pleasure to use. Anyway, as I indicated last week, while the blog is going to be mostly in hibernation mode for the next few months while I focus on some music production projects, there will be a few … [Read more...]

Navichord giveaway – 10 copies of chord/harmony exploration app to be won

I guess it is a 'thing' in other parts of the world also but, in the UK over the last few years, the concept of the 'pop up' enterprise - be that a shop, or an event or a restaurant - has become quite common. Having indicated a couple of weeks ago that I'm going to have much less time to spend on the blog over the coming months, that's perhaps a pretty good way of thinking about what I hope to be able to do - a 'pop up' blog when I'll post something that I think might be of interest as and when … [Read more...]

Layr giveaway results – two winners of Living Memory Software’s mega multi-timbral synth

If you are an iOS music maker with a bit of a synth habit, then you will already be well aware of Living Memory's iOS mega-synth Layr. The app was widely praised on release and, I suspect, helped to ruin more than a few 'I don't need any more iOS synths' promises that folks had made to themselves. I reviewed the app when it was launched here on the Music App Blog....  and, in short, the potential is obvious and, as the demo videos suggest, this is an app can deliver some hugely impressive … [Read more...]

Vatanator giveaway results – three winners of Georgi Georiev’s streamlined drum machine

I’ve reviewed a whole range of different drum and groove apps for the blog over the last few years. These comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes and, within any iOS musician’s app collection, there is most certainly room for a number of these tools as, across the whole range, they offer different features, functions and approaches to working. One recent release in this category is Vatanator. This is the first app by developer Georgi Georgiev and I did a full review of the app on the blog soon … [Read more...]

FAC Chorus giveaway results – 10 winners of classy iOS AU chorus app

FAC Chorus arrived on the App Store a few of weeks ago and it finally bubbled to the top of my 'to do' list when I took an overdue look at the app. In terms of basics, the app is universal, requires iOS 10.0 or later and is a modest 19MB download. It is also modestly priced at just UK£2.99/US$2.99; very much in the casual purchase price range. What's perhaps less modest is the feature set. As shown in the screenshots, the app offers a rather nice 'studio rack' graphical look and, thankfully, … [Read more...]
