SongSheet update – bug fixes and tweaks to iPad song cataloging utility app

Download from iTunes App Store songsheet logo 2There are lots of ways of keeping track of your song charts whether those are all the covers you play in your gigging band or your own songs. However, if you want a convenient, and gig-friendly, digital format, then the is an app for that; SongSheet. I’ve reviewed SongSheet by developer Ghostdust previously on the blog so if you have not checked out the app  then do take a read.

Developer Gabriel Hauber does like to keep things moving though. Version 2.4 arrived in January and there have been a couple of other ‘point’ updates since then, while v.2.5 arrived on the App Store a few weeks ago added in the ability to filter the songs in your library by key and more exporting options for PDF/printing.

A further update hit the App Store a couple of days ago. This doesn’t add new features but does include the squashing of a few bugs. Having been first released late in 2012, SongSheet is becomes a very solid and mature app but it is still good to see this kind of routine consolidation taking place on a regular basis.

Whatever cataloging system you use for your songs, getting everything into a system is initially a lot of work. If you are prepared to knuckle down and get that phase dealt with (and SongSheet does make that as easy as it can), then the long term benefits are obvious. SongSheet is becoming a very well featured cataloging application and, at UK£6.99, it is a pretty modestly priced for what could be such a useful tool.
