Roadtrip time – family catch-up and some downtime :-)

guitar player on road v2For regular visitors to the site, just a quick note to say that I’m going to be away for a few days and, as a consequence, things will be a little quieter around the website until I return….

After a very busy couple of months, mainly working on a number of production music projects (and therefore having a little less time for blogging), we are finally managing to get a short break to catch up with some family and friends back in the UK.

Family time is always welcome….   although as we are due 25 deg C here today in SW France, I’m not sure I’m looking forward to a short reminder of late October weather in the UK when we arrive at out destination this evening! Wish us luck :-)

Anyway, if I can, I’ll try to keep the occasional post coming while I’m away as there will be some downtime from all the socialising….  Otherwise, I’ll catch up early next week after out return….

Anyway, whether travelling or not,  enjoy your own ‘journey’ over the next week…  and get some music made…..

Best wishes,

John

    1. Have fun!

    2. Happiness is the road. :-)

    3. “Me” time is important for everyone. Good for you, John. That being said I was looking forward to not purchasing any new apps due to your reviews for at least a week. Well that lasted about 2 days! The world of apps slows down for no one.

There’s truth there. I got itchy for a fix, though, and searched the AppStore for new synths – something I emphatically do not need. Discovered the new wavetable Scythe, which sounded like a good idea at the time.

Sure wish John had been home to NOT review it – or review it with faint praise, mentioning its severe deficiencies in both features and sound – thus saving me time and money.

    5. Now back…. Well, actually, back for a couple of days…. but managed to bring home something not very pleasant from the UK and which I’m still trying to shake off. Otherwise, the trip was good though…. Nice to both catch up with family and get some progress on some work-related stuff…. best wishes, John

      • I hope you fare better than frantz Schubert, sir. He also caught something not very pleasant.
But jokes aside. All we readers look forward to having you fit and back blogging.
I’m playing Beatles “Getting Better” for you.

    6. Isn’t there some sort of hippy dippy New Age music healing app you can listen to that will heal all your chakra energy centre psycho-mind/body misalignment? ;)

While you are recovering , I’d like to see you commission a thumb-sucker article, perhaps by an outsider (like an AU app developer), on the difficulties with automating the parameters of AU apps — versus the existing automating found via the in house effects in DAWs like Cubasis…

    8. Good luck in your future music making efforts, John! Your blog has been a big part of my own iOS music production journey. Thank you for all the time and effort that have gone into producing the quality reviews, articles and newsletters over the the past six years. All the best!
