Modstep giveaway – five copies of AppBC’s iOS MIDI sequencer for iPad to be won

Download from iTunes App StoreModstep logo 1As I posted yesterday, AppBC delivered a further update to Modstep – their fully-blown MIDI sequencer with both step sequencing and piano roll editing environments – bringing a number of maintenance-style fixes to what really is a very sophistcated sequencing platform. If your music making revolves around MIDI, rather than audio recording, then Modstep is a powerful option for sequencing on your iPad.

I did a full review of Modstep just after it was launched and the feature set is impressive. You can use unlimited MIDI tracks and there is support for multiple MIDI continuous controllers on each MIDI track so you can modulate your sound sources to keep your sounds changing, etc. The first significant update added Audio Units (AU) support which was great to see.

Anyway, Benjamin Weiss from AppBC has been kind enough to provide me with five copies of the app to give away to readers here at the blog so now might be your chance to pick up a copy of the app for free. As usual with the giveaways I run on the blog, the deal is simple; get your name in the hat and see if it gets pulled out.

You can enter the draw in one of two ways.

  • First, if you just want to enter this draw, then use the Contact Us page to leave your details before 10 pm (GMT) on Tuesday 14th March, 2017. Make sure to enter ‘Modstep’ in the message subject line.
  • Alternatively, if you want to get included in this – and every future promo code giveaway run on the site – then sign up for the Music App Blog email list before the deadline. All members of the list will automatically be entered if every draw. You can sign up here and, as a bonus for signing up, you also get a copy of the Music App Blog’s ’25 iOS music apps to get you started’ guide.

As soon as I can organise after entries close, I’ll draw a suitable number of names at random from all those entered. I’ll then notify the lucky winners by email and include the necessary promo code. I’ll also post a list of the winners here. If you are one of the lucky ones, do make sure to use the code ASAP – iTunes Redeem Codes generally have a relatively short life span once they have been issued.

Modstep’s added support for AU hosting in v.

Modstep is a very powerful MIDI music creation environment with impressive functionality. It is perhaps not for the faint-hearted as that power comes with a depth that does involve an initial learning curve but, as a stand-alone MIDI sequencer, it’s clip-based approach is both very flexible and very creative. The app requires a minimum spec of iOS7, is iPad-only, a 103 MB download and is currently priced at UK£19.99/US$19.99.

And if that sound like it might be of interest, then check out the original full Modstep review, note that AU support has been included since the first launch, watch the videos below, and then hit the download button to find out more from the App Store….  oh, and get your name in the hat :-)
