Cubasis SALE – last few days of 50% SALE after v.2.0 update

Download from iTunes App Storecubasis logo 3Cubasis is, for my money, the best ‘all round’ DAW/sequencer we currently have under iOS and, while Auria Pro most certainly provides a more desktop-style feature set, Cubasis offers a slick interface and a well focused feature set that lets you get on with the core tasks of recording and mixing audio/MIDI music productions. And, as I reported a couple of weeks ago, Steinberg released v.2.0 of Cubasis (and Cubasis LE) recently bring a range of excellent new features in an update that was free to all existing users.

As I also noted when reporting on the update, Steinberg have also had the app on a 50% off sale pricing to celebrate the move to v.2.0. However, that special pricing only has a few days left to run (until October 6th to be precise). If you are going to take a punt on Cubasis, then now is most certainly a good time….   you can currently pick the app up for just UK£18.99/US$24.99.

Cubasis now offers a sophisticated real-time time-stretch/tempo-match feature.

Cubasis has always been a slick and streamlined app and the feature set has always struck me as a pretty well balanced for the iPad platform. The update introduced a new time-stretch/tempo- matching option for those working with loops, new pitch-shifting options, a new channel strip for each channel (based on the similar concept in the desktop Cubase), a new creative effects options via Spin FX and new presets for both Micrologue and MicroSonic. All these new features just enhance an already very good all-around package for the iOS musician looking for a DAW/sequencing environment.

The new channel strip is very impressive....

I purchased Cubasis on the first day it was launched at the full price and, as I’ve also been a Cubase user for many years on the desktop, Cubasis is pretty much my go-to DAW/sequencer on my iPad. Perfect? – no, not yet, but it is very good indeed and I’d have no hesitation in recommending it even at the full price of UK£39.99/US$49.99. However, at the 50% off sale price, Cubasis is absolute bargain and, given Steinberg’s long-standing reputation, it’s also nice to know that you are buying into one of the leading music tech brands. Top notch stuff so grab it while you can…..
