Arpeggist updated – VirSyn add new features and fixes to their dedicated MIDI arpeggio app

Download from iTunes App Storearpeggist logoA number of the rather excellent iOS music apps from VirSyn are currently on a pretty significant sale. This includes VirSyn’s iOS mega-synth app Tera Synth alongside apps such as microTERA (a waveshapping synth and currently 50% off), Harmony Voice (pitch shifter and automatic harmony generation; also 50% off) and Addictive Synth (50% off).

Some of these apps feature a very well featured arpeggiator function and one of VirSyn’s more recent releases was Arpeggist, an iPad app that takes those rather good arpeggio functions and presents them as a stand-alone app that you can use to drive any MIDI-based synth. As I posted in my review of Arpeggist, it really is a lot of fun to use and offers all sorts of creative options without being too difficult to find your way around.

A further update to Arpeggist appeared on the App Store today. This takes the app to v.1.1.1 and, while the update is simply a technical one,  it brings some improvements in the virtual MIDI out support within the app. This is good so see; MIDI communication between iOS apps has had a somewhat rocky road to travel over the last couple of years and, while things have undoubtedly improved, refinements are always welcome in any app…

VirSyn’s arpeggiator function has always been a very nice arp feature within their various synths and seeing it now as a separate app is most welcome. If you like a bit of arp action, then Arpeggist – currently UK£7.99 – can give you some great arpeggio features to use with any of your favourite iOS synth apps….  and do check out their other apps while the current sale lasts…. :-)
